AI assistants for smart homes in Los Angeles
If your lights, thermostat, cameras and speakers each have their own app, we connect them to one assistant you can talk to. Then saying “goodnight” turns off the lights, locks the doors and sets the temperature.
The discovery call is free and takes 30 minutes.
Plenty of homes from the Hollywood Hills to Malibu already have smart lighting, thermostats, cameras and speakers. The trouble is they rarely work together. Each has its own app, and nobody in the house remembers which one does what.
We start by learning how you use your home, then set up an AI assistant to run those systems in the background. You ask for what you want in plain words, and it deals with the right device.
We work across Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, Hancock Park, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Studio City, Encino and Pasadena.
What your assistant can run
The systems we connect. You don't need all of them to start.
Lighting
Scenes for dinner, a movie or working late, schedules for the outside lights, and voice control in every room. Say "dinner" and the dining room dims while the garden lights come on.
Climate
Smart thermostats and zones set the way you like them. On a hot afternoon it can cool the bedrooms before you get home, then ease off when everyone is out.
Security and access
Locks, cameras, sensors and gates in one place. Let the cleaner in from your phone, check who's at the gate, and set alerts so you aren't pinged every time a cat crosses the driveway.
Audio and entertainment
Music in every room, a movie in the media room, or a playlist for when people come over, each started with one sentence. Works with systems like Sonos.
Shades and blinds
Motorized shades that close when the afternoon sun comes in, open in the morning, and give you privacy at night without anyone hunting for a remote.
Wi-Fi and network
None of it works without good Wi-Fi. We plan coverage for the whole property, including the garage and outdoor areas, so your devices stay connected.
Why work with us
Local, and in person
We do the work at your home. Hillside houses in the Hollywood Hills and Bel Air, and places by the beach in Malibu and Pacific Palisades, can be tricky to wire and cover with Wi-Fi, so we look at the house before we plan anything.
Careful with your house
Technology shouldn't be the first thing you notice in a room. Where we can, we keep it out of sight: hidden speakers, small sensors and discreet keypads instead of a wall of screens.
Privacy first
Strong passwords, encrypted connections, a separate network for smart devices, and as little cloud as possible. We turn off data collection you don't need and tell you what each device shares.
We stay on after setup
New devices, firmware updates, a routine that needs changing. We check in from time to time and keep things updated, and you can call or email us when you want to add something.
Common questions
How does an AI assistant run my smart home?
We connect it to the systems you already have, such as Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Control4, Lutron and Sonos. Then you can run the house by voice, or let routines do it for you, like the outside lights coming on at dusk and the doors locking at 11 pm. As we see how you use it, we adjust the routines to fit.
Will it work with the smart devices I already have?
Yes, you don't need to start over. Apple, Google and Alexa devices, or a mix of all three, can be brought together under one assistant. If something can't be connected, we'll tell you before we start and talk through the options.
How does voice control work?
You talk to it the way you would talk to a person. Say "good morning" and it can raise the blinds, adjust the thermostat, start the coffee and play your morning news. We set up the phrases and scenes around your routine, so you use the words you would use anyway.
What if my home is in the hills and the Wi-Fi is patchy?
Homes in the Hollywood Hills, Bel Air and the canyons can be hard to cover, especially across several levels and outdoor areas. Your assistant can only control what it can reach, so we look at your network first and plan coverage for the whole property, including outside. That usually means a mesh network with access points placed for your layout.
Is my smart home data secure?
We set up strong passwords and sign-in, turn on encryption, put your smart devices on a separate network from your personal devices, and switch off cloud features you don't need. We also turn on automatic updates. The goal is a home that is more secure after we leave, not less.
How long does setup take?
It depends on how much the assistant will manage. If your devices are already in place, a focused setup covering lighting and voice control can be done in a few days. A setup where it manages lighting, climate, security, audio and entertainment typically takes one to three weeks. We'll give you a timeline when we talk.
Tell us about your home
Tell us what's installed and what you wish it did. We'll talk through what an assistant could take over and what's involved. The call is free.
